My Review of the Romantic Comedy "Leap Year"

The other day I watched a movie called Leap Year, a romantic comedy, starring one of my favourite actresses Amy Adams alongside Matthew Goode and Adam Scott.
Anna Brady, a no-nonsense, well-balanced young lady has been in a relationship with her boyfriend Jeremy for four long years, with still no sign of a marriage proposal. At a romantic dinner she was expecting a proposal but her hopes were dashed when it didn't eventuate. A devastated Anna learns of an ancient Irish tradition that allows a woman to propose to the man on the 29th of February in a leap year.
As Jeremy is in Ireland on a business trip she decides to jump on a plane to Ireland and pop the question herself. A series of mishaps sees her stranded in Wales where she meets the surly and unkempt Declan, who seems to delight in making her feel as unwelcome and uncomfortable as possible.
Anna only has two days to get to Dublin to meet Jeremy and she is appalled to find that there is no public transport available to take her so Declan reluctantly agrees to take her in his own car. Their clash of personalities causes many hilarious situations along the way.
By the time they arrive in Dublin, their opinions of each other have changed. However when she finally meets Jeremy he finally goes down on one knee and she accepts seemingly half heartedly while Declan slips away un-noticed.
After returning home to America she discovers that he main intention in wanting to marry her is to gain a promotion. Disillusioned she returns back to Ireland to find Declan.
The movie ends with Anna and Declan standing on and amazing Irish cliff top with the sun setting in the background. This scenery will captivate you and make want to go to Ireland for your next vacation.
