Fitness Marketing Plan

Is your fitness marketing plan rock solid? If so, then your business is constantly growing. And that is a good thing. Although sometimes growth can come at a cost. If it grows too quickly, your fitness business can become hard to manage. Quality will suffer, and so will the results of your clients. That's when they start to leave. So there are a few options that you can do to prevent this from happening.
Hire A Full Time Employee (or two)
This is great because now you have someone there full time to take a lot of work of your hands. You can hire a personal trainer, a person for customer service, an office manager. Any one that can help you. But, when you have a full time employee a lot of times you will have to provide benefits, including health insurance. If your business is expanding, but not booming, you may not be able to handle this expense to start.
Hire A Sub Contractor
This is similar to an employee minus the benefits part. You can pay them by the hour, by the session, or on commission. This is a great option that many fitness business owners use when they are looking to hire someone. But again there is one small issue. When hiring a sub-contractor you need to pay them well or they wont stay long. Then you have to find another one. So here's another great option...
Bartering
Now this may seem like a strange idea but if done right it can work really well for you. Find any part of your business that you hate doing, or don't have the time to do anymore and barter it out. When you have your next lead come in, instead of having them pay, offer them a deal.
It could be anything. Offer them 50% off their package if they are willing to make follow up phone calls for you, write articles, screen emails, post craigslist ads, or whatever it is that you need done. You could even have them come for free to take care of even more work for you.
The best thing about bartering is that it doesn't cost you a dime. You can actually make more money if you have a highly qualified barter client. Over time you can barter clients doing just about everything for you. Use your imagination. Anything that needs to be done in your business can be done by bartering. Even helping you with your fitness marketing strategy can be done by bartering with clients. Just one thing to keep in mind when you barter. You must constantly be checking in on them to make sure they are doing the work. If not, then they will be taking advantage of you and your services.

Business Marketing Impact

Although business to consumer (B2C) marketing might be more visible, the number of business to business (B2B) transactions is much larger. Yet finding guidance on B2B marketing can often be difficult, especially in reference to designing trade show displays for a B2B audience. This audience expects a lot more from trade show exhibits, and if their demands are not met, they fully understand that they can go elsewhere for their product. Maximizing the B2B potential of your booth requires careful planning, entailing detailed focus on everything right down to banner stands and flooring.
B2B Basics For Trade Show Displays
The main concern of a business buyer is keeping their costs to a minimum. More than a consumer, they're concerned with maintaining their profit margin, which means that they want to purchase whatever good they ultimately get at the lowest price possible. This desire for a low price is checked by their desire to have a quality component; they won't likely buy a poor quality product no matter how inexpensive it might be.
Understanding these needs, the goal of B2B trade show displays should be to: 1) show visitors why your product is a quality item; and 2) communicate that it's low cost. The second point can be a bit more difficult than the first, simply because a particularly high quality item might have a shockingly high cost. If so, your trade show exhibits need to shift the focus onto the quality of what you're offering. You'll need to demonstrate very clearly why your more expensive item will be more than worth the initial price.
Informative Trade Show Exhibits Are Key
In B2B, there is much less emphasis on sales language that can dominate in consumer relations. Business buyers are seldom able to make a decision on the convention floor about whether or not they want to buy your product, so calls to action and other less informative tactics tend to be less effective. To secure business clients, your banner stands need to communicate information that they can take back to their offices. You need to show clearly why your product is best for them, rather than relying on gut decisions like you often can when marketing to consumers. A businessperson will rarely if ever buy on instinct. Instead, they'll buy after laying out all their options and making the decision with the most financial sense.
Boosting The Information Quotient With Banner Stands And Flyers
Ideally, you would want to build all of your B2B trade show displays from the ground up to appeal to business clients rather than a general public audience. If you are just beginning to use a B2B selling model, that probably isn't realistic; instead, you'll likely be looking at adding banner stands and other supplementary materials to an existing unit, which was probably designed with consumer marketing in mind.
The first thing to do when retrofitting your trade show exhibits is to determine what key information is missing. Do you demonstrate that your product has a low price and high quality? In B2C marketing, all you need to do is claim that. In B2B, you have to show it, back it up with numbers, include statistics, and much more. In B2C, too much information can overwhelm visitors and slow their decision-making process. In B2B, every piece of information is just ammunition that the buyer can use to convince the board to buy your product.
Banner stands are a great way to add this information to a pre-produced booth. Simply design the banner stands with an eye for what's presently missing and place them prominently throughout your unit. When used wisely, they are functionally as impactful as having the same information on the actual unit, if not more so because they add visual interest. With the addition of inexpensive banner stands and careful design, virtually any company can craft a convention presence that will do well with a business audience.

Some Ideas for Magnetic Materials

When you're in the process of rewriting the marketing materials for your business, it is a great time to consider new possibilities. Your objective should be to produce written pieces that are absolutely magnetic to your sharply delineated target market. What you want is a "system" of written pieces, each with a specific purpose - constructed to accomplish a specific thing. Ideally, you would have 3-4 written pieces - each providing more information about the problems that your business solves for clients and designed to move a prospect closer to working with you.
Generally, these pieces (depending on the nature of your business) are a) a one page executive summary, b) a more robust description of your business c) a fully detailed website that gives all the information a prospect needs to buy d) one or possibly several white papers that describe in-depth various aspects of your business. As you can see, having these pieces prepared in advance allows you to give a prospect exactly the amount of information that they need when they need it. When you create these pieces as a "system" you give enough information to entice a prospect to want to know more.
Here is a list of ideas for you to consider when you are preparing to rewrite the business materials you have to sell your services.
1) Use this opportunity to upgrade your target market. Think back to your best clients and the most profound successes they have had. What characteristics did these clients have? How did they behave that produces such great results? How did they function that made their success inevitable? Usually your best clients are committed to their own success and to getting results. They do "what it takes". If you want to "close" them as clients, your new target market must be specifically addressed to them.
2) Target your materials to a sharply defined niche - a subset of the entire market - who has a specific problem to solve. Don't make the mistake of believing that EVERYONE is your market or of being afraid to sharply define who your market is. You will attract exactly your target market when you use details about how those problems (that you can solve) impact their lives. You want to produce in them that thrill of recognition that caused them to self identify as your target market. To get this effect requires specificity in your description.
3) Describe the benefits clients get from working with you and getting the solution you provide. How are their live changed? What can your prospects expect to feel and experience if they become clients? What differences have you seen and had clients describe? "Paint a picture" that is realistic, compelling and ultimately desirable to your target market.
4) Put together materials that you can proudly present to prospects - without apology or dissembling. You want them to have a true, accurate and current "snapshot" of your business that is easy to understand and gets them to engage with you. The language needs to be simple, clear, and easy to comprehend. Don't complicate the information or use technical jargon.
5) Think about your written pieces and how they fit together as a system. Do you have overview information you can give on first contact, information to respond to for requests about complete information, and in-depth information for specialty topics? Can you supply the right amount of information that a prospect needs according to their interest level. You don't want to overwhelm a prospect with information when they are initially only slightly curious.
As you get ready to rewrite your business materials, and prepare your marketing writing, if you do a little upfront planning and preparation you can ensure that your business is magnetically attractive to exactly your target market.

Reasons Why Trying to Attract Everyone To Your Service Business Attracts No One

You provide outstanding services to your clients. You're unique in the quality of the results you get for them. You're empathetic and compassionate and want to help as many people as you can, but you find that you are having problems attracting a steady stream of new business. You are puzzled by the gap between the results you achieve and the dearth of clients. It does not make sense to you. When you think about it, first you think it might simply be bad economic conditions. Then you realize that other providers - who are not as effective as you - have plenty of clients and are thriving. What could be happening that you're failing to attract the flow of new clients that your business needs to thrive?
It could be that your marketing writing aims to attract everyone and is not tailored to a target market. It's a common mistake for service providers to resist explicitly aiming at a target market. No one wants to lose out on the potential of new business, so you think you'll aim broadly and have a large target market. What happens then though is that you are seen as a generalist. There is nothing memorable or unique to distinguish you from all other providers. When a prospect looks for a provider, you get passed over for someone else who is more specific in describing their target market. Let's look at the reasons why trying to attract everyone as a target market fails to attract anyone.
1. Prospects are looking for solutions to specific problems, not general ones. If they don't see in your marketing writing that you work specifically with the issues they want solved, they aren't willing to take a risk that you might be able to help them. Instead, they keep searching for a provider who addresses their specific issues in their marketing writing.
2. If your target market is everyone, your marketing writing necessarily cannot provide the degree of detail that attracts specific types of prospects. There's no way that generic language will ever resonate with a targeted market. It's not possible. Give up the fear that targeting will lose you business, and get specific.
3. It's not possible to describe the real issues and challenges of targeted prospects - unless you choose a target to aim for. Without making these choices, your marketing writing cannot go into depth about the specific suffering endured by a defined market.
4. You cannot be explicit about the solutions you provide if you are trying to attract everyone. Without those details, you cannot create desire and interest in your market. You can only use "fluffy", meaningless promises that are not going to help your prospects long for the results you can provide to them.
5. We all like to have our individuality and uniqueness recognized and understood. Your prospects won't be attracted to marketing writing that doesn't take this into account.
6. Your services cannot be tailored to the needs of your market unless you target a market. Surely your services are designed with specific issues and types of clients in mind. That in itself helps you define a target market. If it helps you target more sharply, start with the services you provide and work backwards.
7. When prospects are searching for a provider, you will not stand out in a crowded field of competitors. You've no reputation for expertise in anything specific. Think about it. When you search for a provider, don't you have a tendency to go with those who look like they'd be best at solving your type of problem?
When you are doing your marketing writing to sell your services, make sure that you do not make the mistake of trying to attract EVERYONE as a target market. You will simply be creating the situation where you do not have a consistent and dependable flow of new clients. Don't do that to your business.

Get Your Logo on Promotional Merchandise

Promotional gifts work wonders for promoting weight loss centres and programs. That was brought home to me last night as I relaxed in front of the TV.
I watched the UK version of "The Biggest Loser' last night. That's the program that takes a group of very obese adults, offers them a healthy diet and puts them all to work in the gym under the instruction of two trainers. They are all trying to get down to a healthy weight but the 'biggest loser' gets the added bonus of winning £25,000.
As I sat their sipping my coke and eating my beef burger, I watched as they all sweat it out trying to shed the pounds. Then it suddenly donned on me just how well the program was advertised with promotional gifts.
Each of the contestants had large t-shirts printed with' The Biggest Loser.' In fact, almost everything they touched sported the same logo. From their sports drink bottles to their towels and paper pads, they all had the logo nice and large printed for all to see.
This was really no different to my own gym where the manager always ensures his gift shop is stocked high with promotional merchandise printed or embroidered with the gym's logo.
Later in the show they advertised the newly published Biggest Loser Book which had just gone on sale. No doubt they will also be selling some of the clothing and other useful gadgets used on the show as well.
Promotional gifts are not just gifts. Promotional merchandise is anything that carries a logo and/or contact details. These types of product loan themselves to the weight loss business very well
If you are marketing a gym or weigh loss program, your clients will often take pride in the fact that they are part of it. These same clients will often purchase products with the logo of the place or program. If not, they are unlikely to turn down a free printed gift.
Whether you are in the lucky position where you can actually charge for your logo printed merchandise or you give the products away, the end result is ultimately the same.
These products sell. They promote the places, products or programs they are printed with to the recipient and everyone they happen to encounter. Many of these products can last for months if not years. This means that thousands of people can see your brand information all for one small cost.
Now that's good marketing!

10 Steps To Successful Exhibiting

Exhibiting at a trade show can be a stressful experience, but it can also result in thousands of new leads and generate new business for you. One thing is for sure: people expect to pick up promotional items at trade shows. However, it takes more than just setting out a few dozen pens to capture new business. Here are some steps to take to make your next trade show exhibit a success.
1. Determine your audience. If you are trying to develop business in a new field, become familiar with the industry and think about which promotional gifts will be especially appreciated and used.
2. Order literature and promotional merchandise well in advance. Not only does it take time for items to be customized and printed, you'll need to make sure that you can get sufficient quantities by your deadline. You'll also need to allow enough time to resolve any problems with your order such as misprints or back orders.
3. Set up your display creatively. Attractive displays show that you respect people's time and attention. Banners, backdrops, literature racks and advertising items should be displayed in eye-catching and innovative ways to draw prospects to you.
4. Use promotional products to break the ice. Offer a prospect a pen or pencil to start a conversation. Once you discover his or her needs, you can discuss how your business can meet them.
5. Use unique promotional items. Promotional stress balls are available in almost any conceivable size, shape and subject matter. They are a great conversation starter that will keep your logo in front of people for years. The more original your products are, the more they will stand out in people's minds.
6. Establish a method of capturing leads. Have people sign up for your mailing list, or set out a basket to collect business cards. Always provide a pen with your logo on it when you ask them to sign up for your mailing list.
7. Offer premium promotional gifts for people who complete a questionnaire or make a purchase. Customers and highly qualified prospects should receive more incentive to do business with you than those who are simply scouting for the best pens and key chains.
8. Make sure you have plenty of promotional literature about your business as well as a good supply of business cards. Be sure to provide folders with your logo on them to hold papers and pamphlets. This makes it much easier for prospects to find and review your literature after the show.
9. Stay engaged. Promotional gifts are an effective method of drawing people to your display, but they can't do your job for you. Nothing takes the place of listening to a prospect and providing solutions. Always thank people for visiting, even if you don't think they are well-qualified prospects. You never know who they know. People do talk after the show, and they will remember exhibitors who were rude or disinterested.
10. Be sure to follow up with leads from trade shows. Personal emails are always appreciated. Don't ignore people on your mailing list either. Even if they are not ready to buy, they may be planning a future purchase. If you send printed matter, include a promotional gift as a reminder and a token of thanks. Flat items like mouse pads and refrigerator magnets go a long way to establish goodwill, and will continue to advertise for you long after the trade show.

Business Vehicle Wraps For Mobile Advertising

Marketing budgets for many small businesses have taken a hit in recent years, but vehicle wrapping remains an affordable way to reach large amounts of potential customers with rapid results. We've seen first hand the vast benefits that come with them, and the advertising potential is enormous.
For local businesses, it's fair to say that significant percentage of your prospective clients are other small businesses and residents in the neighborhood. With money being tight, many business owners may have reservations about whether the initial expense to wrap their company vehicles is worth it. After all, high quality vehicle graphics can be a substantial investment for a smaller company. There is plenty of evidence that suggests vehicle wraps do indeed pay for themselves (often many times over), and can result in more contacts and general customer interest than many other more expense types of advertising.
Few will disagree with the fact that outdoor signage can drive more traffic to your storefront. In a sense, vehicle wraps are rather like mobile outdoor signs, allowing you to spread your company's image and contact information anywhere the vehicle is driven. Today, a vast amount of Americans rarely touch a newspaper, and busy individuals (aren't we all?) will often miss local TV broadcasts and news, which is where many local businesses often buy commercial time. However, an overwhelming majority of Americans are always on the road in the morning, evening, and everywhere in between, whether as a driver or passenger.
Printed ads in phone books and newspapers can reach customers, but only after they have made the choice to buy and read it - vehicle wraps bring your business image out on the road for all passing motorists to see. Commuters, for example, are prime advertising targets based on both income and consumption. Over a third of heavy commuters belong to households earning $75,000+ annually, which makes frequent impressions even more valuable. When potential customers are reached repeatedly with a distinct message or image, they will become more aware of it, and this can effect future purchasing decisions.
It doesn't matter if you are a small or medium size company, or a one-man band, vehicle wraps can easily result in tens of thousands of impressions per month or more, depending on the number of vehicles wrapped and where these vehicles are operated. At the very least, you will be exposing your business image to anyone and everyone out on the road, wherever you go. Some premium yellow pages print ads can cost $5,000 to $10,000+, but your competitors' ads will be right there with it, and people have to choose to pick up the book before seeing your ad - of course, they might not see it at all. With vehicle wrapping, you bring your company impression directly to the eyes of the consumer.
Whether you are a sole-proprietor looking to advertise more efficiently by using vehicle wrap advertising or you are a larger organization that needs vehicle wraps for an entire fleet of company vehicles, including cars, buses, vans and SUVs, we can help!

The Best Advertising Is In Truck Banners

What better way to spread the news of a growing business than with a truck banner? There isn't much, these big beasts of the road are virtually begging to be used in advertisement. Millions of eyes see them as they strut down the road, and it's only a great idea to have a business advertised on the side of them.
Get Creative With Your Banners
Truck banners allow for the widest variety of creativity in advertising. There are so many colors to choose from and options to allow a person to get just the right look for the business they're working to get more attention on. They allow for enough room to advertise anything. Don't hesitate to really put the thinking cap on and get a banner that is truly unique for the business. This may be a great time to unleash that new logo that's been talked about for a while now, and there isn't a better way to do it.
Truck Banners Travel Anywhere The Truck Does
One downfall of signs is that they are stationary, so they only speak to the same group of people during any given week or month. Not so with these traveling advertisements. They allow people all over the country to see the logo of a great business. They are big and bold enough that people will notice them if they're on the highway or even if they're sitting in a parking lot. They move to enough locations that it's a guarantee that new faces will see the advertisement for the business pasted on the side of it. They are unique enough that people who know the business owner may be surprised to see their advertisement on something as unique as a truck.
How To Find Them

The Top 10 Promotional Items For Your Company

Defining the top 10 promotional items for your company starts from a brainstorming exercise. The following list gives you 10 ideas with specific examples of industries for which it has really worked. When creating your own list of top 10 promotional items you will need to use your own experience and intuition, or simply call your competitors in another town and ask them the top 3 promotional items that have delivered results for them.
You will also find that some of these items are simply universal and will work for most industries with some adaptation. I am not giving you a template to follow blindly, but a kick start for your thinking process. Some of those items will pertain to direct response promotion, some of them more to PR and others will showcase advertising styles that produce real returns.
Promotional Item #1 Write and advertorial
A "promotional Article" that gives your prospects the story of your company, how many people your company has helped your with its products or services. Give them the reasons why your company deserves their trust (remember that any purchasing decision is based on trust). Your advertorial needs to have a compelling headline to convince people to read further. If the advertorial is followed by 3 to 5 weekly ads with an attractive "killer Offer" you are even more likely to get results. This works for all industries.
Promotional Item#2 A testimonial sheet or video
Your prospects would rather have proof from someone who has already taken the risk to buy your product. When is comes to spending money we are all risk averse. A written testimonial must have the photo of your client, plus their name and address if possible. Even better, use a video on your website to capture testimonial, that is more powerful again.
Promotional Item#3 A good sales letter
In the era of electronic marketing, snail mail or faxing can be a surprisingly good sales tool, because it's different. Direct mail is definitely not dead and providing you observe a few basic rules you can get a much better response rate than an email campaign. You don't have to worry about SPAM laws, so create your list and just send the letter.
The best selling websites are nothing more than a benefit driven sales letter, accompanied by testimonials and a copy of your advertorial. The more customer oriented, the more informative the letter is and the more ways to alleviate your customers objections, the more sales you will make. Again this item can be adapted for most industries with great results.
Promotional Item #4 FREE Press releases
Magazines, newspapers and online press release directories all start with blank pages hungry for something newsworthy. If your business doesn't have anything new, create an event, a special introductory offer, a celebrity endorsement, a community fundraiser or whatever may help you make the cut.
Promotional item #5 Trade Shows
What better opportunity to get in front of targeted prospects? By attending the show your prospects have qualified themselves as hot candidates for buying your products. You may use the show as a way to grow your database of clients, sell on the spot, or book a proper sales appointment with good prospects. Here's a tip, in all these cases you will need a good "bribe" for them to take action on the day. It can be a draw to win something of high value or a killer offer on one of your products. Then it's your job to get repeat sales from those prospects. Shows are great from beauty therapy and home ware right through to consulting businesses.
Promotional Item #5 3 Elements to test in any promotion
a) The target list, who did you want to reach
b)The headline of the ad, the opening statement of your letter or the first thing you say to the person you talk to on the phone
c) The offer, how you package what you are selling
Promotional Item #6 Be perceived as a giver
So many new businesses are off to a very slow start because they are expensive and not prepared to give anything away. Local fundraisers, visit to local businesses with free products or free vouchers will have PR effects that you cannot buy! Unexpectedly giving something for free to a regular customer will be a sure fire way to have them on your side, better than any loyalty card. This works a charm for restaurants, beauty therapies or any high repeat purchase product or consumable, but you can make it work for real estate, insurance brokerage,etc...
Promotional Item#7 Be a consultant in your industry
By this I mean you can win customers' trust by being the only one who gives them the information they are looking for when shopping for our kind of product. If you go the extra mile as an adviser, you're on your own, what an easy point of difference! You can adapt this idea online by giving a FREE report for people to learn more about your industry or product. This works particularly for products that require careful thinking like insurance, financial planning, investment or even fashion.
Promotional item #8 Delegate everything except the marketing
This is a golden rule right across all industries: Your should spend at least 30% of your time working on getting more clients through the door. If you are working very hard and not making much money, are you just waiting for someone else to do the promotion for you? Don't wait for the newspaper to produce a miracle ad, the economy to get better or word of mouth to spread the message. Be the promoter for your company
Promotional item #9 Get on the phone and sell
I am always amazed to see "sales consultants" behind the counter twiddling their thumbs: business is a bit slow? yo got time on your hands? Calling your existing clients with an offer is the first way to boost sales. Try the telephone/letter/telephone method, target all the business owners around, you are bound to get some business! Works fantastic for restaurants, beauty, retail but also for financial services etc..
Promotional item#10 Use Google Keyword tool, Market Samurai or Wordtracker!
You must find out what's hot in your industry, and what better way to find out than learn what words people are using when they go on the internet to look for your kind of product or service? Then you can talk their language and be where they go looking for you Whatever promotional item you wish to add to this list, do yourself a favor and make sure you always have at least 7 systemised, ongoing promotional items on the go at any time, and business will thrive!

After viewing the videos, the subjects were given questions about the accidents and were asked to write down their answers.

Classified Ads for Your E-Store

There are many places and types of E-Store cropping up all over the net daily. With places like Etsy, eBay and Artfire, there is little reason not to start your own online shop if you have the skills and a product to sell.
This however, doesn't mean you have to allow your advertising to be limited to whatever optimization and marketing the host website does for their own benefit. It can also be beneficial to increasing your business if you take a pro-active hand on getting your name out there. Search around for some of the best free classified ad sites and begin to post your products, links to your website, or in general, what the classified ad site allows users to post.
A good idea is to make sure you get the following information into the post:
  • The product you offer
  • The cost of your product
  • If the product allows for customization, state so, and supply a fee or let the reader know to contact you for a quote on a custom order
  • A link to your site
  • A contact phone number or address
There are many things you can say self promotionally about your business if given the room, however, it is best to limit the information included in your ad to the minimal that someone would need to know, that could instigate them into learning more. This can bring the reader off of the classified ad site, and browsing your E-Store site or sites. This is exactly the effect you wanted to have by posting your products on the ad sites in the first place!

the Best Products and Services on Free Classified Ad Sites

Sometimes filtering through the spam and other non-sense can make looking for the product or service you need on free classified ad sites a bit of a pain. The best way to get rid of that headache is to learn to recognize those ads that are more legitimate, and hopefully posted by someone who intends to provide the product or service that their ad is listed under. Some of the things that users should keep an eye out for to avoid spam types of post are:
Avoid Repetitive Ads
Most legitimate products and services will not post twenty ads all in a short period of time. However, those who are spamming scam products may. If in doubt, always email them and ask for a contact phone number for their company.
Watch Out for Links
Although legitimate business owners will also provide links, they will usually be domain links, such as myproductorservice.com, though some spammers will in fact provide short links, that can look like http:/uarkd.qrs.com or other URLs that seem to 'hide' what they are all about. Most legit companies will want to get their domain name in an ad.
In addition to avoiding spam, you will want to know what you should look for to find the best, most reputable companies for your products and services purchases. Learning to recognize those are as easy as learning a few simple techniques.
Product or Service Descriptions
Legitimate companies will always list enough details about their product or service so that readers know whether they would need those products or services or not. Those ads that are upfront about services and prices are showing their legitimacy by being upfront, and not mysterious about what they have to offer as scammers free classified ads will be.
Contact Information
Legitimate business owners will want to provide a quick and easy form of contact whether that includes an email, a website contact form or even a phone number. Businesses will go out of their way to provide helpful customer service pre and post purchase.
Logos
A legit business should also have a graphically appealing logo. Since most free classified ad sites allow for at least one photo, look through the ads until you see logos that look as if they describe the product or service you are seeking. Erroneous logos are as good as none.
It can be a huge time, and frustration saver to take the time to browse for the most legitimate possibilities before investing the time it will take to begin and to build a business relationship with a new product or service prospect.

Promotional Folders As a Reward - Part 2

There are any number of reasons why you should opt for promotional folders as a method of promoting your company. Giving custom folders as a reward for excellent performance is merely one, but it is a very efficient and effective way of getting maximum return on investment.
Targeting is the essential way of using promotional folders to ensure value for money. However, using them as an award gives an extra dimension to them. There is also the distinct advantage of the range. It goes from fairly basic right up to leather bound zipped folders and beyond.
As you will know your staff well, especially those who perform best, you will be able to pick the precise folder, or a number, that will suit your purposes. No messy guessing for you. Both a custom folder aimed too low and one that is too grand are wastes of money.
The question arises as to what is the function of promotional folders given as an award. The answer is simple enough: there is a whole raft of purposes and more to be discovered. A zipped folder as an award is a multi-purpose tool.
The first thing to note is that the recipient has concrete evidence that they are valued. A promotional folder is substantial, a quick thank-you via a pat on the back when leaving a meeting is not. Further, a custom folder is a constant reminder of this. Every time they place it on a desk your regard for them will be reinforced.
It is not just historical though. A promotional folder tells that person what you want from them. If they have done more than is expected of them, more will be expected of them. A quality zipped folder will be a constant reminder of this, rather demanding for them, fact of life.
A promotional folder that has been given in recognition of effort will also indicate to others your high regard of the recipient. It is a clear signal that you know what is going on in your firm. Such a custom folder will indicate the standard to which everyone should, and must, aspire.
If you wish to encourage the person receiving the promotional folder then a judicious choice of type could be important. If you wish to encourage them, perhaps one that is not quite what they hoped for. A message to try just that bit harder perhaps. Or maybe a leather-bound zipped folder will show them that now it gets serious.
Whatever function you want a promotional folder you give as an award to perform, there will be one or more just right for the task. You will know the person very well so will be able to identify just the right one. The right custom folder can do so much.

Choosing the Right Christian Book Publishers

Christian writers who have finished a title or two are at a loss on how to bring their message out to their target readers. Indeed, getting published is one high mountain to climb for those who are still greenhorns to the publishing industry. Selling a book to a publishing house takes courage; the chance of it getting rejected is as high as being accepted. Emotions of writers end up in pieces most of the time, because they try to send to as many publishing houses as possible without doing their homework first.
Selecting the right publishers is not about being picky though, but it is about maximizing resources that are often limited for the writer. Authors, regardless of religious background, get too many rejections because they submit to publishers at random. When they keep aiming for nothing, it is exactly what they hit-nothing. So that time, effort, money, and paper are not wasted in submitting letters and chapter synopses, the following are some tips that Christian writers can employ to get it right.
It is highly recommended to shop around for publishers at book fairs, especially if such events feature Christian book publishers. Book fairs are perfect avenues to learn more about the publishers and what kind of subjects and genres they are currently looking for. This is something that budding writers can do, even if they do not have a book project in mind yet. In fact, a book fair can be a source of inspiration and ideas, as writers get to know more about publishers.
There are book publishers who frequently release book titles that are within the writer's genre and topic of expertise or interest can be considered as well. They are likely to read through the entire manuscript, because it falls right into their set criteria. On the other hand, there are publishers who are on the look out for fresh content, and they are usually open to authors who are breaking into the industry. Christian writers with a unique book project in mind may target these houses.
As book fairs are seasonal, another way to get acquainted with publishers is by researching them online. Joining forums and visiting publishers' websites can go a long way in determining the right publishers. Also, there is a wealth of electronic book publishers in the Internet that writers can explore, especially if the content touches on the practical elements of the beliefs they are writing about. Subscribing to feeds and online newsletters can open up opportunities later on.
Conferences, workshops, and trainings are one of the most effective ways to hook up and know more about Christian book publishers. Writers have a good chance of meeting chief editors in such events and learn more about the standards of the publishing houses they work for. Besides getting lessons and pointers, their network of contacts also enlarges, which may prove useful when the time comes to get published. Keynote speakers and workshop facilitators invited in training conferences bring with them experience and expertise in the industry.

Finding the Best Christian Book Distributors

Most writers agree that getting published is easier said than done. For one, it necessitates a degree of knowledge and even expertise in marketing, so that submitting to publishers is nothing less than strategic. It may even need authors to develop persuasion in their writing skills, so that they can package their manuscripts in a way that will speak the language of the publishing companies. Getting familiarized with the standards of the various distributors can also help in shaping the manuscript, so that it grabs the attention of editors.
With the above challenges, writers may have noticed by now that it takes a proactive effort to get to the book distributors that they prefer. Randomly submitting sample chapters is an exercise of futility, not to mention, discouraging, because writers who do it this way are likely to get more rejection letters. So, the key is to be strategic in one's search for possible distributors, which in the end is a wise and efficient use of one's resources. Christian book distributors that are the best in the industry are often found in places that fellow authors also frequent.
Book fair event is the first stop for the writer. This is where publishers set up their booths, display their titles, and present their authors. It is a good place to find reputable book distributors that are potential partners in the immediate future. Authors are often present during these events for book signing, and they are good sources of information about a certain publisher or distributor, especially when it comes to how they compensate their writers and price their work.
Information on the best distributors is also found at a local bookstore's bestsellers' list. Writers, while they are still in the process of finishing their book projects, can already begin frequenting bookstores in their town or city and find more about their publishers and distributors. Asking around at bookstores may not be as fruitful as inquiring with authors at book singing or launching events. Nonetheless, bookshops are great places to find out the type of content that attracts today's readers most.
Another place to find more authors and distributors are writing workshops, in which published writers facilitate sessions. It is the best avenue to draw out their experiences and insights, since they have been there. They may have some knowledge about what not to do when mailing manuscripts to Christian book distributors, and such pointers are most valuable to beginner writers. Representatives from publishers are sometimes present to entertain, not just questions, but also promising manuscripts from participating writers.
Conferences organized especially for publishing and distribution companies are affairs, where writers can meet with chief editors and decision makers, the best of what the industry has to offer. Getting tipped off on when and where the next conference can be researched online, and by signing up in publishers' mailing list for weekly or monthly newsletters. Knowing and understanding the trends of the publishing industry can steer writers toward contents that will in people's hands.

3 Keys to Choosing Religious Book Publishers

When writers talk about their faith in their books, the target audience is immediately limited to those of kindred beliefs. It is not surprising, then, that competition is quite stiff among such authors and many are struggling to find their mark. However, these authors are in a challenging position of writing about their religion, while striking a chord that is collective to all human beings. Or, it can be universally appealing, yet, echoing the pillars of one's faith.
The challenge, however, does not stop at merely completing a compelling material for the masses. The writer must endeavor to have it published, which requires the skill-some say the art-of persuasion, which does not easily come as a second nature. Selling a manuscript to a book publisher is not just about convincing them that it will be read, but that many people will read it, no matter what their religions are. It all starts with picking the right religious book publishers, and this article offers three ways to make it easier.
Serious writers are first encouraged to be more visible by showing up at significant affairs that prolific authors and key players of the publishing industry attend, usually on an annual basis. They are more fruitful for the writer if few copies of the manuscript, coupled with cover letter and synopsis, are prepared beforehand, in case a publisher shows interest in looking at one's work. Personal interaction is one way to warm with the publishing directors and editors, and to understand what contents they are after.
Besides increasing one's visibility, religion writers are also recommended to be in the loop and watch out for updates and opportunities. They can join online forums among publishers and writers, sign up for regular newsletters, and subscribe to feeds. This is one way to learn what books are selling, as these are likely the kind of manuscripts that will draw the attention of publishing companies. It's Information Age after all, and those who are abreast with the latest often get the opportunity to be published.
Lastly, being familiar with the publishers by reading about them on print and online provides a better understanding of their core values and business. It can give writers direction and ideas for a book project in the future. Frequenting bookstores for this purpose can be a successful research endeavor as well, yielding as much as information as attending publishers' conferences. The trick is to be creative and open-minded on possible sources of information on religious book publishers.
As an additional tip, writers are advised not to be too picky when it comes to religious book publishers. Manuscripts do not always have to be released in a printed form; an alternative is to have it launched as an electronic book. With today's progress in managing information, more and more publishers are venturing into e-books, without are cheaper to produce and sell to the reading market. Authors may want to start exploring ways to package their manuscript both as a printed book and as an e-book.
