Connect Emotionally for Effective Networking

If you want to be remembered, connect emotionally with those you meet - you'll find it's the basis of successful networking.
I was reminded of this on a trip to Southeast Asia. We visited 10 different destinations over a three-week period and in each location we had a different guide. Each one did a superb job.
They knew their facts, efficiently scheduled activities, were unfailingly polite, and open to program changes as we went along. While we enjoyed our time with every guide, there were some we simply connected with more than others.
What makes us remember one, while others fade into oblivion? And, why do we take the time to enter the contact information of specific individuals in our address book with the full intention that we will keep in touch?
The answer is simple: it's those with whom we made an emotional connection. And how did that happen? The guides who shared personal stories with us - who told how their families reacted to significant events, either with pain and suffering or happiness and elation - they are the ones that we remember. They are the ones with whom we want to stay connected.
The best guides brought their history and culture alive through personal anecdotes, expressed with feelings. The more emotion they expressed, the more we empathized. The more we empathized, the deeper the relationship we developed. Nothing felt staged - it made it real for us.
It is the same with you and networking. We are taught that our business and personal lives should be separate but when we share stories of our families and discuss our feelings, we are more human and people relate. Everyone has a family - it's a place to find common ground.
I used to work in sales in a corporate job and many years later, the people that make an effort to stay in my life are those where we got to know one another personally. We bonded through our families, by being sincere, by being vulnerable, and by revealing who we really are. That's what effective networking is all about.

Online Networking for Small Business Owners

Being the owner of a SME can often feel like you're standing on an island in the middle of the ocean with no-one around except for a few monkeys and a couple of palm trees. Why is this so, when there are so many of us? According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, there was an estimated 1,646,344 small business operators in June 2006 (and I'm not an employee of the ABS, but I'm pretty sure that number would have increased since then).
The trouble with being a small business owner is that your focus is so often internal. You are so caught up with the daily working of your own business that you don't have time to put your head up and see what is going on around you. One way to overcome this isolation is to get involved with networking.
Firstly, what is networking? Well, the way in which people network has changed dramatically through the emergence of the WWW, not to mention social media. However, networking still is, and will always be communicating with like-minded, similar, expert, or experienced individuals and groups who may be of benefit to yourself, mutual benefit, or interested in what you have to offer. Discussions about ideas, thoughts, experience, advice, lessons-learned, mistakes, best practice, innovations, personal life and goals results in each of the involved parties taking something away from the interaction that they didn't have prior. You might be asking yourself, 'Well, what has that got to do with me running my own business?'... To that question I would answer - EVERYTHING.
What do you do when something in your business just isn't working as well as you'd hoped? You'd read a couple of books, maybe run a Google search or two and read all of my amazing blogs (gluttonous self-plug, sorry!) I'm not saying to stop doing any of that, in fact, keep it up! I am advising you to also make use of one of the most priceless resources available - the experience of those that have been there before.
Experience is something money can't buy (yes, this is unfortunate), but it can be sought from those in the know. Having been a member of many networking groups over the years, I can state without a doubt that it was one of the most crucial weekly tasks I performed for my business. Everyone there is in attendance for the same reason: to learn... Or, if you're lucky - purely to mentor others. You know yourself that you have solid skills in some areas and shall we say, inadequate skills in others. This is fine, because all your other networking buddies are in the same boat - that's where the benefit exceeds all expectations. What you don't know, others may... And what they don't know - you might be an absolute expert in!
Another reason to begin networking today is the Internet - no longer do you have to go to an official meeting after work hours, following a long, hard day and sit in an uncomfortable chair with dry, day-old muffins through a 2-hour mostly irrelevant presentation while you try not to fall asleep. Now, you can simply join a group/community online and log on WHEN you like, for AS LONG as you like and ask/read the questions you actually WANT to know.
If you're a Facebook or LinkedIn user, I recommend the group 'Small Business Owners Australia' created as a highly tailored forum to specifically address the needs of SME owners. I post in this group often myself, as I find it is a great way to share and find out current information about our environment and how it affects small businesses. Networking, or sharing ideas with like-minded business owners, really is the way to stay at the top of your game, at the front of your industry and firmly set in the minds of other business owners... Especially if you are in the world of B2B, talking with other business owners is also a means of free promotion! We need to realize we're not alone, so say goodbye to the monkeys and palm trees, grab a paddle and set sail in to the world of online networking.
Implementing this success strategy and tactical superiority in your business will go a long way to helping you succeed in your own business. The 5 W's of Networking

We all need a community - people we can call on when things get tough and we need a hand. A network is nothing more than friends helping friends. Here's the 5 W's to making that happen.
  1. Who: You can learn from anyone so be curious with everyone you meet, from taxi cab drivers to restaurant proprietors. Each may have a contact to help you reach your goals. And, if they don't, you may be surprised to find that there is someone in their network who does!
  2. What: Form relationships which aren't all about you, but rather are all about "us." Send others articles of interest, introduce them to your friends, comment on their Facebook page, and give them glowing recommendations. If you work for them, it will come back to you.
  3. When: Begin at birth or, at the very least, start today. Always form a network before you need it. Don't wait until you are out of work or trying to raise money for an important project or idea. It's the old adage, "build it and they will come."
  4. Where: You can network at the office, at a club or acting as a volunteer. It doesn't matter if you collect miniatures or curl, if you follow your passion, you'll meet others who are doing what you love to do. Creating a bond with them will happen very naturally.
  5. Why: Business happens between people who know each other, like each other and trust each other. People who are part of my community have recommended excellent suppliers, put my name forward for bookings for and supported my causes, amongst many other things. I've certainly accomplished more in life with them than I would have done without them.
  6. How: Get to know others authentically, on a soul-level. That means getting past stereo-types and generalizations. It means revealing a weakness so others believe you are human and sharing what you like to do for fun so they will know that you are more than your job. It is easier to network if you relax and be yourself!
Even if the sky looks dark and full of clouds, having a network means that you'll have people you can call on. And, like the song says, "Ain't it good to know that you've got a friend?"

The Pros and Cons of a Male Mentor

You want upward mobility, a higher salary, and work/life balance. Research shows that those with a mentor do better in all regards, so it's about time you found one. If you're considering a man for this role, here are a few pros and cons to consider:
Pros
1) Most men will advise you to be unemotional, and sometimes this is a lesson that women need to learn.
2) Men generally hold higher positions in organizations, so they can be a powerful advocate for getting you promoted.
3) Men will teach you how to banter, which is how they communicate with each other and express acceptance.
4) A man always asks for a raise and will encourage you to do the same, rather than taking what is offered to you.
Cons
1) They'll recommend aggressive interpersonal actions that work for men but aren't always acceptable for women. We have to filter their advice and consider the context.
2) If you are seen together too much, especially alone, rumors that you are having an affair can become common; in such cases the woman is always the loser!
3) Having never been exposed to it, most men don't understand sexual discrimination or gender stereotyping. Many may also be ignorant of your work-life conflicts.
4) Men automatically establish hierarchies, so many of them will want it to be clear that you are the subordinate. Women, who tend to be more egalitarian, like shared-power relationships.
Obviously there are lots of good reasons to have a male mentor - and in some professions, such as engineering, there is hardly any way around it. To make a cross-gender mentoring relationship work, be open about differences, seek to understand the opposite prospective, and set boundaries. All of us can use more than one mentor, so why not mix them up?

Integrating the Right Domain Name Into Your Business Strategy

Just two decades ago, shopping was an activity that primarily took place in stores and over the phone. These days, e-commerce has come to reign supreme. Although most stores still have physical locations, carving out a well-recognized presence in online communities is vital. With a bit of creativity and skill, your business can benefit from today's technology by devising a strategy that adeptly integrates your domain name and presence on social networking sites.
When you are starting a business, you might be tempted to begin by relying on free internet tools such as email, blogs, Facebook, and Twitter to reach out to clients. These are all valuable resources for nonprofit organizations and businesses alike. However, when you begin depending on them to reach out to customers, it is difficult to establish a unique image or moniker. Many of these sites also reserve rights related to the content you publish. Because of these factors, it is imperative to build a site based on the right domain name from the moment you go into business.
Selecting the right domain name takes a bit more thought and effort than you might think, but the investment will pay off for years to come. A significant portion of common, everyday words have already been snapped up by businesses so it is useful to maintain a flexible attitude to avoid getting frustrated. As an initial step, it is a good idea to jot down keywords and short expressions that describe the business. If you get stuck, ask a friend or business partner to help brainstorm. Look through brochures and materials you have around the office and think of words that epitomize the goods and services you offer to clients.
Search engines stay true to primary definitions so avoid slipping into poetic usage whenever possible. While a poetic expression might be a great slogan, it is not necessary to squeeze it into the domain name. Sometimes you can cut down on length by using initials or shortened forms of the words - just make sure that you do not cut out meaning. Punctuation - for the most part - and capitalization are out of the realm of possibilities. Dashes are allowed, although they should be used sparingly. If you consider using internet slang or texting language, beware of any word whose exact meaning seems to change over time.
There is one additional point to be considered before registering a domain. A website is an essential business tool, especially when you link your email address to it as well. However, tools such as Facebook and Twitter should not be neglected. They can help bring in traffic and solidify your fan base. Therefore, just as you put care into selecting an address, be sure to create an accurate parallel profile on social networking sites. The image you put forth should be consistent and clear, while respecting the restrictions of distinct virtual environments. Once you are able to integrate the use of multiple sites with your own, chances are that business will really start to pick up.

Domain Names Help Your Website Stand Out

One of the first things that someone notices when they are searching for different websites with a search engine like Bing, Yahoo, or Google is the domain names of the sites that come up in the results. Most people only look through the first page or two of the search results, but making your website stand out from the herd is incredibly important. One way to do that is by having a great domain name that really pops out from the page. This way your site will be more attractive, hopefully getting that random Internet searcher to click on the link and spend some time on your page. This will increase your hits, which means that if you sell ads, you can raise the rates. If your website is for a business or a product, this is great, too, because it means that more people will be viewing your services, and potentially become clients or customers. Who would have thought that something as simple as the name of your site could make such a big difference in terms of how successful your website is?
Another reason to choose a good domain name is that it will be memorable than something that is long, complicated, and hard to spell. So if this anonymous Internet researcher chooses to click on your link, they are much more likely to remember the domain name later on so that they can come back. Isn't something like DetroitDental.com much easier to remember than JarokowskiBrothersDentalOffices.com? Which website do you think will get more repeat customers? The answer here is quite obvious. An added benefit to this "memorability" factor is that even if the random Internet browser decides not to check out your website this time, the name might just stick in his or her head. The next time that he or she encounters your site, whether it is in a different search inquiry, on a related website, or in a newspaper article, it will have that feeling of familiarity. Maybe this person will not even realize why she recognizes the domain name DetroitDental.com, but she will subconsciously feel like she knows this site better than others. She will implicitly trust it. This is the kind of marketing that you cannot simply buy.
So now it is up to you to choose a domain name that is both easy to remember, and yet captures the essence of your blog or your business. This is like the handshake of the Internet world: it is the first way that a potential customer or client can get a sense of who you are and what you are about. So you want to make this first impression a strong one. Choose something that is clear and confident, and that does not employ any goofy spellings. Do not make it similar to another popular website, potentially confusing your customers. For example, if your company is named "Group One", making your URL groupone.com might lead some people to think that they are really trying to access Groupon.com.

The Ideal Domain Name Registration Service

When you decide to go online with your own site, the first thing you do is find a domain name. You would do some brainstorming to decide upon your options. If you are wise to the ways of the web, you would draw up a wish list of possibilities that are based on keywords pertinent to your niche. You also prepare a domain name registry list.
Then you use a domain name registration service or Whois or some other service to do some research on which of your options are available.
If you can afford to pay for aged domains, which can be expensive, your first port of call would be sites that sell aged domains. The right aged domain can come with advantages that new domains would take months or years to match:
  • online presence of a few years,
  • high page rank,
  • a good link network
  • a spotless track record.
But then, it is going to extremely difficult and expensive to find a domain that has the right age and other criteria.
So what do you do if you are not able to find the right aged domain? You can pick on one of three options. You can:
  • go to a domain name registry and get a new domain;
  • keep up your efforts for the aged domain of your dreams, even if it takes months;
  • compromise on an aged domain that may not be what you dreamt of, but is an acceptable substitute.
Given the small number of available aged domains that are suitable for your niche, and given the lesser number of aged domains that would match your specific requirements, your chances of finding just the right aged domain are quite low. And if you do find a domain that suits you, you may discover you are unable to pay the asking price immediately. You scrape up the asking price, and then suffer the heartache of finding out someone else has beaten you to the domain.
Of the remaining two options, compromising on an aged domain that is only a bit of what you wanted may not be acceptable to you.
So you decide you are going to take your chances with a new domain name.
You don't want to register your domain with just any domain name registry. You require the services of a service that is reputed, absolutely reliable and able to give you total security.

Using Software to Clinch Aged Domains

If you buy aged domains, you can do your sites a world of search engine optimization good, if the domains come in a package deal with these assets:
  • a long online history
  • a list of backlinks of value
  • a good Page Rank
  • no blacklisting or other negative track record.
However, buying these domains involves the daunting task of finding them first. There are dozens of online sites that have them for sale. Each site has hundreds of domains on offer.
Even if you are able-and patient enough-to research every site offering aged domains, you will find that only a small number of these domains are up for grabs out of the millions of domain names that have been issued. Your options would be severely limited if you are searching for a domain based on a keyword: the more specific the keyword, the less the options you can avail of.
Just a small fraction of these domains that you do come across will be suitable for your specific niche.
Only a tiny proportion of the domains suitable for your niche will have high page ranks, ripe ages and some decent backlinks.
And finally, you may or may not be able to afford the asking prices for the domains that meet all of your criteria.
As you can imagine, you have to strain through some pain to get some domain gain.
And if you are searching manually for the ideal domain, the strain can become pretty much unbearable-unbearable enough to make you give up the idea of buying aged domains. Can you imagine going through all of the sites with aged domains for sale, identifying those domains that look suitable for your intended niche, and investigating each domain? If you want to buy aged domains, you would have to set several days aside just to pick each one.
Good domains are not going to stay on sale long. They will be snapped up before you can blink an eye. And the problem with searching through multiple online sites is that as you are going through the domains in one site, you may miss out on your ideal domain in another site. You have got to remember that you are just one of a multitude who want to buy aged domains.
Don't give up yet, though. You can use software to do your searching for you: in a few minutes, a good program can dig up results for you that would take you days of manual labor. Good programs can give you all the details you need to succeed in buying aged domains just the way you want them.

the Best Domain Names for Your Businesses

The best domain names can make a huge difference in the success of your businesses, websites and online properties. Utilizing them in the right way, and ultimately, picking out the best ones right from the start, can help lead you to greater levels of success more quickly than you could have imagined. Use this brief guide to see for yourself how to find the best ones, how to utilize free domains and more.
One of the primary concerns that you should be paying attention to with domain names is how short and memorable it is. The general rule of thumb is that the shorter the domain, the better it is, and the better results it will be able to produce. People need to be able to remember your address so if they see it somewhere, hear an advertisement, or anything else, they can just type it in directly and know where to find you.
It can be very hard to find great, one word domain names however. That's why many people utilize two or three word domain names, or utilize dashes in between words to keep it short but find a high quality name that hasn't been used already. This is a difficult game to play in some cases, and you want to keep the length as short as possible, and utilize no more than one or two dashes if you need to.
Search engine optimization also plays a major role with domain names. The best domains will be the ones that have your most important keywords right in there. Then, your website will have automatic value in the search engines, and will be closely tied to the words, phrases and markets you are targeting. It's an inherent advantage to that keyword research and it will give you an edge in the fight for search engine traffic.
One of the biggest debates when it comes to domains is the.com versus other extensions. Some people only use.com, while others are very open to using.net,.info,.biz,.org and other extensions as well. What you end up choosing should depend on what is available for which kinds of extensions, and what kind of business you're dealing with and trying to promote online.
Finally, sometimes the best website names are the free domains that you can pick up. There are a variety of ways to do this, and sometimes certain hosting companies provide you with a free name for signing up for their hosting packages. Other times if you buy a certain number of domains, you can get a certain number of free domains in addition. Be on the lookout for these kinds of deals because you can save yourself some money and end up with something that works out great for your business.
From free domains to carefully chosen, highly SEO valued names and more, the best domains are the ones that will provide real value to your business. Short domains that are easy to remember and type, domains with keywords that help you get found in the search engines, free domains which save you money, and more, are all important qualities.

Web Hosting and Internet Domain Names

When compared to other sources that people turn to for information e.g. radio, television, newspapers and books, the internet is by far the place many people on earth will turn to for answers, this is because the internet is the only place where you can get information on any topic under the sun in no time at all wherever you are. The other reason being that, access to the World wide web is not limited to those people who have access to desktops only but also to thousand of people young and old who own hand held devices like Cellular Phones, ipods etc.
plenty of people who "visit" the World wide web on a daily basis will most likely visit social networking websites, websites that offer free email services or those that offer real-time chat and IP telephony. nevertheless not many people are consciously aware about the fact that when they visit these websites they are patronizing content that exists on a domain name owned by a particular person, many people are not aware that they can have their own website and post articles for others to read.
This article explores the benefits of having a personal website.
1. Affordability
Contrary to what a large number of people may think, the monthly cost associated with having a personal domain name is very affordable and can be as little as $10 per month depending on the web hosting company that you choose. This cost is not prohibitive and most people can afford to pay for it without breaking a sweat.
2. Freedom
most people prefer to sign up with providers that offer "free" websites e.g. This arrangement has obvious disadvantages. FIRST, you have absolutely no control on the "root" domain, SECONDLY, these companies will most likely provide you with a page template on which to construct your pages which might not allow you to customize the page to your liking, THIRDLY, If the domain host where your page is hosted was to stop operating your webpage will be no more no matter the amount of traffic you may have succeeded in sending to your web pages. In contrast if you had your own website you will have absolute control that allows you to create, post, erase and edit content as you wish and the best part of all is that nobody can take away your domain name from you as long you maintain your subscription with your domain hosting company.
3. Personal Branding
Advertising yourself or your business differentiates you from the others. A personal website will help you to achieve this and other businesses and people will take you more seriously. Even better you will get personalized email addresses for your domain.
4. Global Audience
Once you establish your presence on the internet, you straightaway expose yourself to a global audience and when you start attracting traffic to your website you will be amazed at the exponential growth that your website can achieve. A great way to enhance traffic to your website is to add a blog. weblogs provide new and dynamic content as long as they are revised regularly and are a great potential for increased traffic.
This list is by no means all-inclusive and having a personal website is not the end because some bit more effort is required to actually set it up and generate traffic, however the indisputable fact is that you need to take the FIRST step and register a personal domain name in the name of your liking (as long as it is not already taken) and set up a website.

The History of Java Programming

It was a break through! A programming language that would change how the people of the world experienced their day to day lives and that language was Java. Java was the brain child of James Gosling and his team - it began life as a programming language that was way too advanced for its time for its original concept - but it was just in time for the Internet boom and this is how we all come to recognise the name Java even if some of us do not know what it actually does.
Java is the programming language that enables all our everyday digital devices and computers to communicate - it really has changed the world. Java is no longer just the language of the Internet it is the language of our mobile phones and other hand-held technology. The language was developed from C and C++ computer language - but it is simpler. Simpler in terms of the reduced dependency it requires for it to operate - in other words it does not need a specific computer or device is just requires a Java Virtual Machine and it will operate perfectly on a device. Underpinning Java was the idea of WORA - Write Once Run Anywhere - the idea was ground-breaking - the language could be used to operate most prevalent platforms.
As with other programming languages Java developed and an updated version was launched in 1999 called simply Java 2. It was however not a simple update - with Java 2 came multiple configurations enabling Java to not only to run with the Internet and web pages it could now be used with multiple and different platforms and with different versions of Java 2 different applications could utilise the language for instance mobile applications.
What is amazing about Java is that originally it was a no-cost programming language - quite remarkable considering its sudden popularity. As with any developing technology however Java did start making a profit through selling licenses for more specified products. Java has really changed our world and since 2006 it has been released as open source software and since 2007 as a completely free of charge software. Sun Microsystems the company that provided the world with Java has now been taken over by Oracle Corporation but Oracle maintain Java is for the world.
Java is now not only an Internet language it is a behind the scenes power that operates our mobile phones, hand held gaming devices and GPS devices. It is not seen by many, not known by some and yet is everywhere we turn in our technologically led lives. Java has been a tremendous gift to the world - thank goodness for James Gosling and his team - their programming language has transformed everything we do from controlling the television to entertaining ourselves with our hand held devices. If you ever wonder how we can all communicate you can bet that Java has something, somewhere to do with it.

Building an Authority Site Effectively

You can develop a site into an authority presence, but you have to realize that others exist; so you need to be different in some way. Make no mistake about it, you will need to work very hard if you want to create and develop an authority site in any market. Perhaps you have wondered how you could possibly transform your site into an authority site?
One of the major reasons why sites fail to become an authority in their niche is because they wait for things to happen. You cannot stand around just hoping people will link to you. So there will be no sitting back and 'build it and they will come' mentality; that is no good at all. It really is all about taking the bull by the horns and stating that you will do something.
You can find authority sites with a hundred thousand pages of terrific content. So as you can imagine, your market will be wanting big things from you. That is what you will be looking at, and you need to understand that. This will be an ongoing project for years, and that is how it is done by the best. But it is not hard to give that kind of information to your visitors, and when you do they will keep coming back for more.
Another proven strategy that can help you build an authority site is blog commenting, provided you choose relevant blogs and comment in an useful way. Most of the people browsing these blogs are regular readers and if they like your comment, they will visit your site to learn more. If you want to get the most from this tactic, you have to give a lot of thought to your blog comments and make sure they're high quality and relevant to the discussion. If you want to become an authority site, what better way to get a positive vote or a green signal than getting a backlink from another authority site? There is no guarantee of anything, but it will not hurt to communicate with other authorities inside your own niche market and make them aware of you. Talk to the people in your market, and there are lots of ways that each party can help the other one at one time or another. There is no harm in trying to ask them if they would not mind backlinking to your site. You may not be totally successful with this, but it is worth a try to find out.
These are but a few important considerations when you set-out to create an authority site. Any authority site requires a willingness to think in strategic terms, and that is just normal because it all takes a good amount of time. Do not neglect having the attitude that the learning never stops, and it will only help you in the long run.

Choosing a Great Website Builder

If you want to reach your customer base and promote a product or service of any sort you probably should have a website. The Internet is one of the best way to communicate with those that you want to educate about your business and having an attractive and well designed website is the key to being able to effectively reach out to your clients.
Of course having a professionally designed website can be expensive and is out of monetary reach for many companies. A great solution to this is employing the use of a website builder to allow an amateur to create a beautiful and professional site. The software in your website builder will create the coding for your site so that you don't have to take the time to learn Internet coding such as HTML. Having a great software package will ensure that you can create a wonderful and functional website without having to hire a professional or spend hours learning to properly code a site. Using a website builder saves time and money and allows practically anyone to create a website for themselves.
Website builders are a great choice for personal sites as well as business sites. Remember that you are in competition with other similar sites so make sure that you know what you are competing against and that you design a site of comparable quality. A lot of this quality comes down to the quality of the website builder that you choose. For example some builders offer plain and generic templates which are simply recycled from site to site. This can result in a very bland looking site. Other web site builders offer the website creator with more controls and additional options for creating their site. This can result in more unique sites and a custom site.
While these builders do offer additional options you should know that these options often require the user to be more aware of computer technology. If you aren't comfortable with a variety of IT related tasks it is probably best to choose a simpler website builder since some more complex ones do require the use of basic HTML coding and an understanding of HTML tags. A great option to consider is getting a generic, basic site builder for the initial draft of the site and then to use a more complex website builder as you become more comfortable with managing a website.
If you really want your website to be up to date you should also consider integrating high tech features as well like videos or interactive activities. One easy way to accomplish this is by using Flash. Flash is relatively easy to use and doesn't require extensive coding. If you learn to use Flash effectively you can easily crank out a great and modern site in a matter of minutes. Plus Flash is well known for creating stunning sites that can really draw customers in. Using Flash can help you to make your website more profitable and to really create something special.

Many Companies Use Joomla For Website Development

There are many different programs that can be used for website development or design. Choosing the one that is right for you is something that you will need to discuss with the people who are working on your site. One program that many website development companies are using to create secure and highly functional websites is Joomla.
What is Joomla?
Joomla is a content management system that is free and can be used to publish content on the World Wide Web. A content management system (CMS) is a program which allows a person to alter, add to or update their website's content.
It can be used with both text and HTML portions of the website. The development of CMS functionality made it much easier for companies to maintain their own sites rather than paying a website design or development company (or their own IT staff) to update or add information. The basic CMS can be altered using add-ons and extensions that can customize functionality and give a company a highly functional and attractive website that meets their needs.
There are other content management systems available but Joomla continues to be popular. There are many reasons for this. Here are a few of them that you may want to consider before beginning your next website development project.
Security
One of the largest benefits of using Joomla is the security that it offers. HTML based websites are often plagued by security issues that Joomla-based sites do not experience. There are coding components that are built into Joomla along with some script elements that make it difficult to jeopardize the security of a Joomla site. That is not to say that some issues do not exist but the fact is that it is the extensions and add-ons that can cause problems rather than the basic structure of the site itself.
The security that Joomla offers is due to the fact that it uses PHP code instead of HTML. It makes it easier to identify malicious code and then eradicate it, thereby removing viruses, Trojans and other undesirable elements from a site's structure. The program also offers updates and patches that can be utilized to counteract any hacks or security issues that may have developed.
How to ensure your Joomla site is as secure as possible
There are a few ways that you can ensure that your Joomla-based website development project is as secure as possible. The first is to hire a development team which is familiar with Joomla to build your site and perform regular basic maintenance.
The next step is to be very careful about which add-ons and extensions you use on your site. There are many reviews that can help you avoid problematic ones. Some tend to be much more susceptible to hacking or mal-worming than others. Speaking with your website development team will help you figure out which of the secure add-ons are right for you.
By putting a lot of thought and care into the program you will be using to build your site you will be able to figure out whether Joomla or HTML is the route that you want to take.

Introduction To Internet Real Estate

Believe it or not, there is a huge industry of internet real estate for internet marketers online. Many people make their entire career purchasing and selling domains, as well as purchasing and selling entire websites. Many people are very good at picking out domain names when they are hot or have potential and then sell them to buyers. Other people build websites to sell, in addition to purchasing well ranking sites.
The first, smallish, niche of internet real estate are the domains. Many internet marketers are skilled at finding good domains names and gobbling them up. They do not have any intention of actually using the domain for a website, but rather advertising they own it, and will sell it for a price. This can become quite lucrative when a new, hot product is introduced. The internet real estate agent will purchase the domains and simply advertise their selection.
Instead of starting, building, and developing websites yourself, you can purchase one entirely developed and ranking well with the search engines. This can save you an incredible amount of time and effort with search engines results. You have to add the finishing touches to really get money out of it, but the hard parts will be already done. The price of websites can vary between a few hundred dollars to tens of thousands. Traffic, ranking, and conversions are the main components of how much these websites will cost.
If you excel at starting, building, and developing websites, you can do just that. Reserve of the previous paragraph, you can start your own websites from "popular" niches and sell them when they perform up to your standards. Depending upon a few variables, you can sell your sites for quite a bit of money.
There are several sites on which internet real estate transactions take place. Flippa is the most popular website for such transactions. It costs a little bit to participate, but is a minute amount for what you can make. They allow for a good amount of information so that people know what they are getting.
With this introduction to internet real estate, you have an idea of what you can do in the world internet real estate. It acts just like acquiring brick and mortar businesses, except on the internet. If you have extra capital ready to use to expand your internet marketing empire, save time from building your own websites and purchase one instead. You can save yourself something very valuable: time.

Unique Content Is Important to Your Website

Let's look at some observations, myths, and suggestions about duplicate content vs original content. This is from the perspective of building smaller niche marketing websites rather than large authority websites. Some obvious considerations can be pointed out from just looking at that last statement. If you are building sites based on a narrow niche and using long-tail keywords, you will have less of an issue with getting indexed and ranking, then if you are trying to build a website in a popular niche with lots of competition for highly targeted keywords.
Now let's look at some other obvious realities. It makes common sense that you cannot duplicate another website and have much success. Aside from the copyright issues and potential legal problems, this would be a waste of time. The search engines have no logical reason to display sites that have exactly the same content, or even sites with largely the same content. Search engines are looking to index the most original and the most relevant content. The reason is that they want their users to have the best experience when searching with their browsers. You can read a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about tips and tricks to get around this duplicate content thing, but it really boils down to just doing things right. Why not provide good original content to begin with?
It really does not matter in the long run if such a thing as a "duplicate content penalty" actually exists in the search engines. If you want to build duplicate content sites, or websites using automated scraper software, you won't get very far in terms of getting pages indexed. So why bother in the first place. Yes, it sounds terrific, like some robotic convenience from the future, but it simply does not work.
Now, having content that is similar, or expands on an idea is a totally different animal. Many websites are based on a niche market subject that can be expanded and improved. I am not talking about taking copy from another website and somehow spinning it with a software tool from one language to another until it can no longer be read except as gibberish. You don't have to spend time figuring out if you can meet some statistical guideline by changing words using synonyms, deleting sentences, or shuffling paragraphs to make things appear anywhere from 25%-50% more original.
In my world, that is also a huge waste of time and energy.
Forget these stupid tips and tricks. You can easily create good content by providing "more content". This can be things like compiling resource link lists, having pages devoted to videos that other people have produced, a page for frequently asked questions, or having a section on article reviews. Many times this is just a matter of doing some research and adding free content from other sources to make your site more attractive as the "go-to" website on a given subject. Th search engines will also view this kind of website as a more complete resource, and are more apt to index this type of information.
I can tell you this, if people come to your site and find there is nothing new, nothing of value, or they find it total nonsense to read, then you will have a high "bounce rate". This means that people leave soon after they land on your website. This is a known search engine metric, and it will tell you that the search engines don't have a high regard for your site.
Don't spend your time trying to trick search engines and website visitors to your sites. Provide good relevant content and people will want to stay on your site, and will want to return.

T-Shirt Design Placement

Nowadays, the younger generation has a craze for custom t-shirts. Since there are many genuine printers' online offering tools to create a design for a t-shirt that can be printed on the t-shirt, younger people are using their talent and creativity to create the best designs. However, the main factor that these people disregard while designing the t-shirt is the design placement. In most of the cases, they just create a design and use it blindly on the t-shirt. However, most of the cases, people are not aware of the design placement. Whenever a professional designer creates a design for t-shirt, he will concentrate on the design placement and ensures that he is complimented for the work.
The sides of the T-shirts
Whenever you create custom t-shirts to advertise something, the advertisement is normally printed on the front side on the t-shirt. To be precise, the advertisement will be on and around the chest area. However, not many people will look on to the advertisement, as they might feel awkward looking in to someone's chest right in front of them. In this case, the best place to print the advertisement will be the backside. People will be able to look in to the advertisement without any problem since you are not aware of it. Following this method can bring in more views on the advertisement.
Size of the Design Matters
The size of the advertisement is also important and has to consider it seriously. Imagine if you print a large size design on to a t-shirt, the main problem you might face here is cutting of the edges. Therefore, it is important to make sure the design remains on the t-shirt in the area you really wanted. In most cases, the allotted area of advertisement on t-shirts is around 18' x 12'. Apart from the size, consider the placement too, horizontal or vertical according to the design.
