University, Faridabad
The quest for excellence has been the power driving power for Manav
Rachna International University for providing quality education to the
masses in various fields at affordable cost. Engagement in lifelong
learning strategies forms part of our response to the need of
priorities for the tertiary sector. This leads to a path of Continuing
Education and Distance Learning to remove all barriers in the
democratization of education and provide access to all learners,
further opening the gates to research level studies.
To give this impetus to the spread of education, this CENTRE will
implement the concept of Continuing Education as well as Distance
Education with overall responsibility of ensuring its academic
qualities and efficiency of support functions. This endeavor will
then see the culmination of education at research level to explore the
unexplored.
Aims & Objective
The aim and objective of CCDE is to provide students better quality
education, latest technology awareness and skills in the chosen area
in an open and flexible mode so as to enable them to face global
challenge, increase industry education linkage and meet the emerging
aspirations.
Continuing Education
Continuing education is an all encompassing term within a broad
spectrum of post-secondary learning activities and programs generally
for adults. The Centre is oriented towards non-traditional students
with many having accumulated knowledge and experience that can add to
or hinder the learning experience. They apply their knowledge in a
practical fashion to learn effectively and have a reasonable
expectation that the knowledge recently gained will help them further
their goals. Continuing education for professionals is a specific
learning activity generally characterized by the issuance of a
certificate and may be requirements within a particular profession.
These requirements are intended to encourage professionals to expand
their knowledge base and stay up-to-date on new developments. The
method of delivery of continuing education would include traditional
types of classroom lectures and laboratories, having options for both
full-time and part-time study and offers programs within the regular
curriculum to serve non-traditional students.

Distance Education
Opportunities provided through Distance Learning are massive. The
growth and diversity of Distance Education programs are creating a
whole new world that only sees education as its prime objective. New
alliances have been formed between traditional educational
Institutions, foreign governments, and international organizations to
offer and use distance learning. These have all helped developing
countries to enhance their human capital and access knowledge.  This
vision is realized through Centre for Distance Education.
Distance education, or distance learning, is a field of education that
focuses on the pedagogy and andragogy, technology, and instructional
systems design that aim to deliver education to students who are not
physically "on site". Rather than attending courses in person,
teachers and students may communicate at times of their own choosing
by exchanging printed or electronic media, or through technology that
allows them to communicate in real time and through other online ways.
DE could also be considered to be a hybrid or blended course of study
that may require a physical on-site presence for any reason including
the taking of examinations. Radio, television, and the Internet have
all been used to further DE. Computers and the Internet have made
distance learning distribution easier and faster.
The Directorate of Distance Education in CCDE had applied for approval
from Distance Education Council and the process is underway. On
approval, various programmes like MBA, MCA, BCA, BBA etc would be
offered through distance mode. The emphasis will be on E-learning and
very good student support services for quality distance education.
