Trying Out New Themes in WordPress

There are two ways to install a new tutorial. The fastest method is to go to Appearance > Themes > Install Themes and start searching. You can search by name, use the Feature Filter to choose by characteristics, or browse through the Featured, Newest or Recently Updated themes. In all cases you can quickly preview the theme and then install with just a few clicks. Once installed, all you have to do is activate the template and it's live!
The second way to install templates is to either browse the template directory at WordPress or download a template from the many sites online that give away or sell WordPress templates. A quick search for "WordPress templates" will yield many options.
The advantage to browsing through the WordPress template directly (available at WordPress.org under the Extend menu option) is that you can see more statistics while you're browsing. These stats can give you a sense of how popular a theme is, which is usually a good sign it's solid and will work well with your site.
If you downloaded the theme, make sure you save a backup of the ZIP folder so you can always revert to the original files in case you make a mistake while editing. (If you installed directly from within WordPress, you can always go back to WordPress.org and search for the template to download the ZIP.) Having a backup is also good in case you want a designer to customize the file for you.
Have fun installing templates -- try out two, three or ten! It never hurts to install more templates and you can easily delete them later on if you don't like them!
