Dealing With an Annoying College Roommate

The college roommate experience usually starts out just like any relationship. You find that you have some things in common and you're excited about the "newness". The relationship begins with a lot of fun banter but as time wears on you start to realize that the college roommate you're bunking with quickly turns into an annoying roommate that's not just making your life hell - they're breaking rules that could land you in a lot of trouble.
It's not easy to deal with an annoying, rule-breaking roommate in college because if you directly complain it can cause a lot of conflict. If you personally report the issue to an RA or campus council then you're directly tying your name to the complaint. This is the easiest way to skirt trouble but then you're smearing your name on campus as a narc.
You have to think about the social implications of dealing with that annoying college roommate - and that's where anonymous messaging can help.
Where Anonymous Messaging can Help
The biggest problem with a trouble-roommate in college as when they violate rules. If they're sitting up at all hours playing Call of Duty: Black Ops, leaving trash around, not doing their share and just being a general annoying roommate there's not a whole lot that campus authority can do short of shake them a bit and enforce rules on maintaining a clean living environment.
If you've dealing with a roommate that just has their own quirks and issues with losing a mom to pick up after them then there's not a whole lot you can do short of directly confronting your roommate. If that's the case, you have to be human and civil about it. Their actions are frustrating and you're no doubt upset but if you approach the matter and ask them to try to change some of their habits (and recognize some of your own faults with willingness to change) you can approach it from a "we can both do better" stand point. You'll have a better chance of seeing results.
If you've got an annoying roommate that's breaking some serious rules however it may be best to leave it alone and report it to the necessary people. Using an anonymous messaging service can let you get a report out to an RA or campus authorities that specifically names the offending roommate and the issues that are noted to be occurring.
Those in charge will be compelled to look into the issue - especially if there may be illegal activity. The anonymous messaging will have given you a way to make a hands-free name-free report on your annoying college roommate.
