Everybody has always been conditioned that there is a gene that determines obesity or lankiness. It could be the other way around. In a study conducted on several individuals, it has been noted that it is not the gene that can actually control the person to become sick or ill or overweight. In reality, it is the other way around. It could be based on the actual will power of the individual. In a study conducted to 30 men with low risk prostate cancer, they decided to go against the grain of medical science. They underwent major lifestyle changes in 3 months. They did moderate exercise, well balanced diets and stress management sessions.
After the program, it was noted that there were changes in about 500 genes the genes that were turned on had some changes including the hundreds more that were turned off. The disease preventing genes increased in activity while the disease inducing genes diminished. The study was published at the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. It only shows how sheer will power can change the risks and actually do something within the self to heal the low risk diseases. By just changing your lifestyle, your ways of eating, activities and your mind set, you can actually be able to heal the body.
A lot of people are trying to go against the grain that the DNA has all the answers to human health and disease risks. There is a human factor that is more powerful and more interesting to study and that is will power and the desire to survive. Though the study shows real amazing opportunities to less invasive methods, why are there still many people who are not too keen about the news? It is because some people are just very much comfortable blaming uncontrollable aspects and not extend their will power to reach the goal.
This loss of human control due to the unforeseen can be attributed to Freud who stated that negative habits of people are not their doing but there is something in the unconscious. Since the studies in DNA really exploded in the 1950s saying that there is attribution to the genetic blueprints of a person that determines sickness or other aspects. It is necessary now to understand that there is a direct connection between the human consciousness, health and sickness. The study has effectively shown that it is possible to be better physically if you take the matter on your own and really push the sheer will power.
